The pH scale runs from 0 to 14. Seven is neutral; 8.5 is mildly alkaline. This describes the water, not a change to your blood pH.

Does alkaline water change your body's pH?
In healthy people, the body tightly regulates blood pH. Drinking alkaline water has not been shown to meaningfully change it.
Is alkaline water better than normal water?
For most people, no clear overall health advantage over safe ordinary drinking water has been established. Some early studies investigate specific uses, but results are not conclusive.
Is alkaline water suitable for everyone?
People with kidney disease, mineral restrictions or other medical concerns should ask a healthcare professional about water and mineral intake. Alkaline water is not a treatment for any medical condition.
